Expression of type Ⅱ inositol polyphosphate 4-phosphatase in papillary thyroid carcinoma tissues and its clinical significance
Objective To observe the expression of type Ⅱ inositol polyphosphate 4-phosphatase(INPP4B)in papillary thyroid carcinoma(PTC))tissues and investigate its clinical significance. Methods Immunohistochemistry(IHC)staining was employed to assess the expression of INPP4B in the cancerous tissues of 200 patients with PTC and their corresponding adjacent normal tissues from 2014 to 2016.The a-nalysis aimed to elucidate The correlation between the expression of INPP4B and the clinicopathological fea-tures was analyzed.Quantitative data were subjected to analysis using Pearson's chi-squared test. Results INPP4B exhibited a low expression in both stages Ⅰ/Ⅱ cancerous tissues and adjacent normal tissues, and the probability of low INPP4B expression in cancerous tissues surpasses that in adjacent tissues[99.2%(128/129)vs.100.0%(129/129),P<0.05];conversely,in stages Ⅲ/Ⅳ cancerous tissues, high ex-pression was found, with a probability of high expression in cancerous tissues significantly surpassing that in adjacent normal tissues[98.5%(70/71)vs.0%(0/71),P<0.05]and in stage Ⅰ/Ⅱ cancerous tis-sues[98.5%(70/71)vs.0.8%(1/129),P<0.05].High expression of INPP4B was significantly cor-related with gender(P<0.01),number of lesions(P<0.01),local invasion(P<0.01),lymph node metastasis(P<0.01),and pathological stage(P<0.01).Conclusion INPP4B plays a role of tumor suppressor in early stage PTC.With tumor progression,INPP4B is upregulated and plays a role promoting oncogene in advanced stage PTC.
