Advances in correlation between forkhead box gene family and osteosarcoma
Osteosarcoma(OS)is the most common primary malignant bone tumor in children and teenagers. The lesions of osteosarcoma originate from the bone marrow cavity in the metaphysis of long bones, and the etiology is still unclear. With the continuous progress of gene diagnosis and treatment technology, the research on the molecular mechanism of OS has also made remarkable progress, and more and more potential therapeutic targets have been dis-covered,which has brought new perspectives for the prevention and treatment of OS.The forkhead box(FOX)gene family consists of a series of highly conserved transcriptional regulators whose dysfunction has been linked to OS patho-genesis.According to studies, the FOX gene family is implicated in a wide range of signaling pathways, and dysregula-tion of the expression of specific FOX gene subgroups may disrupt a variety of complex molecular cascade effects, which further affect the onset and development of OS.The purpose of this paper is to comprehensively review the mo-lecular mechanisms of action of the FOX gene family in mediating the occurrence and development of OS,and to pres-ent the strategies and progress of targeted therapy of the FOX gene family in OS.
