Progress in the application of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation in airway surgery
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO)is widely used in the treatment of respiratory failure or(and)circulatory failure.In recent years,there are increasing reports on the application of ECMO in airway surger-y,with overall relatively low complications and good outcomes,providing a new way for the management of such pa-tients.This article reviews the research progress of ECMO in airway surgery from the aspects of indications,using time,mode selection,anticoagulant management,and complications.
