Overview of tendinopathies and research advanced in experimental models
Tendinopathy is a chronic injury disease caused by repetitive straining, the prevalence of which has continued to rise in recent years, seriously affecting the quality of life of patients and causing a considerable socioeco-nomic burden. The etiology and pathogenesis of tendinopathy are still inconclusive, and the existing treatments are still unable to cure it rapidly. Therefore,in order to study the pathological changes during the pathogenesis and explore the therapeutic methods,it is necessary to construct a good disease model, especially an in vivo animal model. In this pa-per,we review the recent research results of tendinopathy and the advantages and disadvantages of various modeling modalities, focusing on the application and progress of animal models, with the aim of providing a more accurate refer-ence on modeling for future tendinopathy research.
