Expression and its clinical significance of large-type aminoacid transporter 1 in tissue of bladder cancer
Objective To observe the expression of large-type aminoacid transporter 1(LAT1)in the tissues of bladder carcinoma and to investigate its clinical significance. Methods Detect the expres-sion of LAT1 by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR)in bladder carcinoma tissues from 99 cases of non muscle invasive bladder cancer(NMIBC)(86 males and 13 females;25 in the low-risk group,42 in the intermediate-risk group, and 32 in the high-risk group),and using the Pearson x2 test and Spearman's rank correlation analyze its correlation with the level of tumor risk. Results The positive expression rate of LAT1 in tumor tissues of the low-risk group,intermediate-risk group and high-risk group was 20%(5/25),73.8%(31/42)and 87.5%(28/32),respectively.The results of the risk grading correlation analysis suggested that the expression rate in the intermediate-risk group was higher than that in the low-risk group(73.8%vs.20.0%,t=4.93,P<0.05),with a statistical difference between the two groups;the expression rate in the high-risk group was higher than that in the low-risk group(87.5%vs.20.0%,t=6.84,P<0.05),with a statistical difference between the two groups(x2=26.233,P<0.01);and the expression rate in the high-risk group was higher than that in the intermediate-risk group(87.5%vs.73.8%,t=1.45,P>0.05),with a statistical non-difference between the two groups. Conclusion Abnormal expression of LAT1 was significant related to the progression of bladder cancer, and has important clinical significance to the prognosis of treatment.
