Research of the Ecological Protection and Restoration Strategies on the West Coastal Zone in Shenzhen
Located at the junction of sea and land,the coastal zone has unique development advantages and provides important ecological value services.As one of the core cities of Guangdong,Hong Kong and Macao metropolitan area,Shenzhen has developed rapidly in the past few decades.Although reclamation activities have solved the temporary land shortage and other problems,it has brought serious ecological problems to the coastal ecosys-tem of Shenzhen.Taking the west coastal zone as an example,it shows a tendency of artificial and hard,resulting in serious environ-mental pollution,habitat fragmentation,biodiversity reduc-tion and other ecological problems.By combing the spe-cific problems existing in the west coast of Shenzhen,this study puts forward ecological restoration strategies such as controlling land-based pollution,strengthening water quality control,reconstructing spatial landscape,building coastal landscape corridor,promoting the improvement of ecological value through mangrove vegetation planting and conservation,ecological construction of seawall,and eco-logical transformation of artificial coastline.It is expected to provide reference for Shenzhen to carry out coastal zone ecological protection and restoration.
