Research on the Evolution of Traditional Village Protection Practice in Suzhou from the Perspective of"Institutions-Life"
In order to better understand the spatial governance action of traditional village protection and grasp its future optimization path, this article deconstructs the evolution of traditional village protection practices in Suzhou based on the theoretical framework of"institutions-life".Research has found that the protection practice of traditional villages in Suzhou presents a cyclical process of"institutional rigidity shaping-life resilience responding-institutional strategic response".Specifically, the protection system based on instrumental rationality is too rigid, which directly or indirectly affects the daily lives of local villagers while achieving protection goals. When villagers face formal rules and constraints, they are not completely passive in accepting them, but will respond through a series of seemingly ordinary but dynamic"daily life practices".It is precisely thanks to the game interaction between the two that the protection institutions constantly revise and optimize themselves, which promotes the continuous growth of protection governance.
