Model Study on the Ideal Scale of Residential District—From the Perspective of Common Space Social Density
The social density of common space in residential districts has a significant impact on neighborhood communication. To promote it,the key is to ensure the quantity and quality of common space, which will also require the scale of the residential district.Based on the Ⅲ Building Climate Zoning, this paper studies the social density of common space in different types by establishing models. The results show that with the gradual rise of residential buildings from low-rise to high-rise,the quantity of common space per household will gradually decrease, and the quality of it will significantly decrease in three dimensions, spatial scale, enclosure, and privacy.Based on the model study and the requirements of urban development for land use, this paper believes that the ideal scale of the residential district is 3-4 hm2 when the average number of residential floors is 5-8.And if it is necessary to build high-rise residential buildings, the number of residential floors should not exceed 14 as far as possible.
