Turpan City is currently in the stage of rapidly developing urban and rural construction and tourism,but original style of some traditional settlements is damaged,its structure is destroyed and the settlement landscape is confronted with severe pressure of protection.The theory of landscape gene analyzes traditional settlement from geographical environment and historical culture,etc.,and it provides new visual angle for systematic protection of traditional settlement landscape.This paper takes traditional settlement of Turpan as the research object,according to the theory of landscape gene,it recognizes the landscape gene for the environmental feature,layout feature,architectural feature and cultural feature of traditional settlement in Turpan,it applies landscape gene encoding technique to encode landscape gene,constructs the landscape gene encoding model for traditional settlement,so as to form the information base for landscape gene of traditional settlement in Turpan,which is beneficial to the constructing and building of localized landscape for traditional settlement of Turpan,so as to provide scientific theoretical guidance for systematic protection and development of traditional settlement in Turpan.
