Among LuXue,Wuxue,and Zhuxue:the Ming Yue Daoxue Literati Circle during Chunxi Period in Southern Song Dynasty
The Ming Yue Daoxue literati circle during Chunxi Period was an academic group which is closer to real history,"Yongshang Si Xiansheng"which Quan Zuwang proclaimed were only a part of them.The circle revolved around literati who embraced Luxue in Ming Yue area.During Qiandao period,they learned from Lu brothers in the Imperial College.During early Chunxi period,they had frequent academic communication in Ming Yue area.In the eighth year of Chunxi,Shi Hao opened a college in Mingzhou,and most of the invited teachers in this college were Ming Yue Daoxue literati.In the ninth year of Chunxi,Lu Jiuyuan and Lv Zujian successively came to the college,had deep exchanges of views with Ming Yue Daoxue literati.Lv Zujian criticized Luxue's thoughts and mental cultivation,while Ming Yue Daoxue literati made certain responses and corrections.Zhu Xi came to Ming Yue area at the ninth year of Chunxi,and he criticized the meritorious thoughts of Wuxue as well as Luxue's mental cultivation.While justifying Lv Zujian and Lu Jiuyuan,Ming Yue Daoxue literati also started to partially turned into Zhuxue.The circle could be seen as a stage for the debate among Wuxue,Luxue and Zhuxue.Ming Yue Daoxue literati not only played the role of mediator,but also absorbed different academic ideas.Thus,they have became an indispensable academic group in the Daoxue world during Chunxi period.
