In ancient Persian art,dragon pattern was not only a popular artistic element,but also a common artistic theme.Taking the dragon pattern in Ilkhanate as the research object,this paper analyzed the evolution of Persian dragon pattern under the influence of Chinese art style,including its using and shape change in history,as well as the ways and reasons of which Chinese dragon were integrated into Ilkhanate's visual system.The research results showed that,via frequent use of Chinese dragon pattern in Ilkhanate art,the monarch of the new regime was trying to obtain political legitimacy and cultural identity through artistic language.
