Hallmark of Time and Memory of Hometown:On the Formation of Ma Shitu's Early Writing Style
From"Wan Xian(《万县》)",a prose published on magazine Zhong Xue Sheng(《中学生》)in 1935,to"Lao San Jie"(《老三姐》),a short story published on Sichuan Literature(《四川文学》)in 1959,Ma Shitu passed through a path of literary creation,during which he achieved an identity transition from a student to a revolutionist,thence to a writer.Poetry is the main form of his early works,there are also some fictions and essays.Though western novels,Chinese classic novels and tales of marvels did give him inspirations,"bai long men zhen(摆龙门阵)",a typical creating mode from folk artisans in his hometown Sichuan,should be recognized as Ma's deepest creation concept.The writing with a strong"Native Complex"vibe has become his most iconic style.The article aims to look back upon Ma's inspiring life struggle in his days,which is helpful to the understanding of the transition of his early works as well as the formation of his writing style.
