Recognition on Chengdu's Status and Function in Chinese History under the Vision of Civilization History
The status and function of Chengdu in Chinese History has not got adequate recognition for a long time,though it has been one of the most historic cities in China and has been keeping developing constantly from past to nowadays.With the progress of archaeological excavation and relevant researches,Chengdu's status and function in Chinese civilization are gradually emerging.Reviewing the formation,development and change of the city from the vision of civilization history,we could find that:Chengdu is not only the political,economic and cultural center of Bashu district,but also one of the origins of Chinese civilization;Since the Qin Dynasty unified Bashu,with its unique geographical location,Chengdu has become the intersection of Chinese three major economic zones,the junction of transportation,economy and culture which connected inland with coastland,as well as an important supporting point,a growth pole and a power source of the development of Chinese civilization.With the coming of the 21st century's land-sea economy time,the strategic position of Chengdu would be promoted again.In the process of the renaissance of Chinese civilization,the city will certainly play a new role.
