On Qinwang Activities in Jingkang Period and the Reasons of Its Failure
During the period of Jingkang,there were two Qinwang Activities(靖康勤王):The first Qinwang Activitie successfully arrived in the capital and forced the Jurchen(女真)to retreat;Although the armies of the second Qinwang Activities were more,most of them failed to reach the capital and failed to save the fate of the Northern Song Dynasty.The decision-making mistakes of the Northern Song was the main reason.Emperor Qinzong's attitude toward Jin was uncertain,and he was deceived by the Jurchen's diplomatic deception.During the second Qinwang Activities,he has blown hot and cold over the war,and even disbanded emergency rescue troops.This policy led directly to the failure of the military rescue.From a military point of view,the the Jurchen had a strong fighting style and a strong cavalry advantage.In fact,their military effectiveness was poor.In the few hard battles,the Song army suffered heavy losses,and finally lost the confidence and morale of fighting with the Jurchen.
