The two versions of the Rostrum Scriptures in Tangut Scripts,both of which were discovered in modern times are very valuable as historical documents.This article discusses titles and binding styles of the two translated versions of the Rostrum Scriptures,and translates related contents of the two texts in Tangut Scripts.The results of comparison between Tangut versions and Chinese versions of the Rostrum Scriptures show that the Tangut Guazhou Version is close to the Chinese Fahai Version,and the Tangut Khara-Hoto Version is close to the Chinese Huixin Version.The differences in texts of the two translated versions were caused by the inheritances of their separate Chinese master copies.The translators of the two Tangut versions understood the text of the Rostrum Scriptures in different ways and made different choices in use of words and grammar.Both of them comprehended the quintessence of the Rostrum Scriptures.The discussions of the two versions of the Rostrum Scriptures in Tangut Scripts widen the vision of study of the Rostrum Scriptures,are helpful in understanding the relations between various versions of the Rostrum Scriptures,and show importance and academic significance of the versions of the Rostrum Scriptures in Tangut Scripts.The results of these dicussions also show a great influence of empires in the Central Plains on the spread of Buddhism in regions of ethnic minorities,and close cultural exchanges between ethnic groups in the history of China.
