Surveillance on adult mosquitoes in Lanzhou from 2012 to 2020
Objective To understand mosquito population composition, mosquito density and seasonal trend in different habitats in the main areas of Lanzhou, and to provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of mosquito. Methods Lamp trap method was adopted for the surveiliance. The surveillance data in Lanzhou City from 2012 to 2020 were analyzed. Results A total of 10 010 mosquitoes were captured from 2012 to 2020,with the density as 4.49 mosquitoes per lamp per hour.Culex pipiens pallens was the dominant species accounting for 98.47%,followed by Culex tritaeniorhynchus(0.43%).In different habitats, the highest density of mosquitoes was 9.42 mosquitoes/(lamp·hour)in livestock sheds and the lowest was 1.69 mosquitoes/(lamp·hour)in hospitals.Mosquito species were abundant in livestock sheds, parks and farmers. The overall mosquito density in 2017 was highest at 4.6 mosquitoes/(lamp·hour).The seasonal trend of the total density of mosquitoes in 9 years showed a unimodal curve, with the peak between July and August. Conclusion The mosquito density was controlled well in Lanzhou from 2012 to 2020.The integrated mosquito control with environmental management as the basis should be strengthened.
