Objective To investigate the species and distribution of mosquitoes and midges in Liaoning Province.Methods Mosquitoes and midges were collected by netting trap,human trap and lamp trap,and brought back to the laboratory for classification and identification.The species and distribution of mosquitoes and midges in Liaoning Province were sorted out by references.Results From 2015 to 2023,44 species of mosquitoes belonging to 5 genera were found in Liaoning Province,which were distributed in various cities in Liaoning Province.Among them,Culexpipiens pallens,Cx.tritaeniorhynchus,Aedes vexan,Ae dovsalis and Anopheles sinersis were widely distributed.There were 50 species of ceratopogonidae in 3 genera distributed in 11 cities,accounting for 78.6%of 14 cities in Liaoning Province.Conclusion This study provides a reference for the control of mosquitoes and midges in Liaoning Province.
