Surveillance of flies and insecticide resistance of Musca domestica in Yangzhou in 2023
Objective To investigate the species, density and seasonal fluctuation of flies and the resistance of Musca domestica to five insecticides in Yangzhou,so as to provide a theoretical basis for fly control. Methods The cage trap method was used for fly ecological surveillance, and the topical application method was used to determine the insecticide resistance of Musca domestica. The ecological surveillance results were calculated using Excel 2016 software, and the insecticide resistance was analyzed using Data Processing System software. Results In 2023,the total fly density was 2.71 flies per cage in Yangzhou.Musca domestica was the dominant species, accounting for 52.86%,and the density was 1.43 flies per cage. The highest density of flies was found in residential area which was 3.05 flies per cage. The total fly density showed a unimodal distribution, and the peak period was July.Musca domestica showed a resistance to deltamethrin,beta-cypermethrin,dichlorvos,phoxim,and dinotefuran, and the resistance ratios were 291.68,65.66,6.86,22.90,and 34.28,respectively.Conclusion Musca domestica was the dominant species in Yangzhou, with varying degrees of resistance to five commonly used insecticides. It is suggested that the technical guidance on the use of insecticides should be strengthened in the future in order to delay the occurrence and development of fly resistance.
