Analysis of the monitoring results of fly density and insecticide resistance in Xiamen City from 2021 to 2023
Objective To investigate the population distribution, seasonal fluctuations, and insecticide resistance of flies in Xiamen City,so as to provide a scientific basis for formulating comprehensive control measures. Methods The fly density were monitored by using cage trapping and visual observation methods, and the resistance to insecticides was determined by using the drug film method. Results From 2021 to 2023,a total of 609 flies were captured in Xiamen City, the average density was 1.27 flies per cage.Musca domestica and Musca sorben were the dominant species, according for 31.69%and 26.27%,respectively.The fly density was highest in farmers'markets. The qualified rate of fly-proof facilities was 78.67%.The houseflies had develop resistance to chlorpyrifos, permethrin, and carbamate, and the resistance ratios were 5.72,26.26,>100.91,respectively.Conclusion The relevant departments and units of Xiamen City should strengthen the comprehensive environmental management of key areas such as farmers'markets, maintain environmental hygiene, eliminate breeding sites, and carry out concentrated extermination, enhance the construction of fly-proof facilities, improve the qualified rate of fly-proof facilities to reduce fly density. The scientific use of insecticides can delay the development of resistance of vectors.
