As one of the extended learning task groups,the whole book reading plays an important role in cultivating students'lifelong reading ability and comprehensively improving students'core literacy of Chinese.However,the Chinese teach-ing of junior middle school is mainly based on single text reading and group text reading at present,and the teaching status of whole book reading needs to be improved.How to organize and carry out whole book reading with limited class hours has be-come a research hotspot in the current education circle.Scaffolding instruction is a teaching mode of constructivism,and its ap-plication to whole book reading teaching in junior middle school can help teachers change their teaching concepts,improve their teaching methods,and perfect their evaluation system,so as to improve the quality of teaching.Rickshaw Boy is an important part of junior middle school Chinese teaching material,this paper aims to provide referecen for teacher.
