As a typical image in Chinese classical poetry,"ape"has multiple emotional implications in Bai Juyi's works. Un-der the influence of different circumstances and ideas,Bai Juyi endowed the"ape"image with different emotions:the"ape"im-age either expresses the poet's sad mood of being relegated and homesickness,or expresses his sad feelings of missing his friends and loneliness,or shows his relaxed,open-minded and optimistic attitude towards life. By studying the ape image in the Bai Juyi's poems,we can understand Bai Juyi's emotions in different stages of his life more comprehensively and deeply,and study the root of his emotional changes,so as to understand his ideas of"helping the world at once"and"keeping oneself alone".
