Expert consensus on the application of multi-parameter flow cytometry for immunophenotyping of peripheral blood in haematolymphoid tumors
Multi-parameter flow cytometry(MFC)plays a crucial role in the detection of haematolymphoid tumors, but it's application has long been limited to bone marrow.Peripheral blood samples have the advantages of convenient sampling, relatively non-invasive,and large information content.Recent updates of clinical diagnostic and treatment guidelines and consensus have all involved the application of MFC to detect immunophenotyping in peripheral blood. However, there is currently insufficient understanding and application of MFC detection of tumor cells and precursor lesions in peripheral blood samples in China. To further understand the value, latest progress, and precautions of MFC peripheral blood immunophenotyping in the diagnosis and follow-up of haematolymphoid tumors, promote the clinical application of MFC in peripheral blood analysis, and establish standardized reference documents suitable for various medical institutions, including clinical laboratories and third-party medical testing laboratories, this consensus was drafted by leader experts, and reviewed by the Chinese Society of Laboratory Medicine,Clinical Blood and Body Fluids Workgroup organized 45 experts from 38 medical institutions across the country with their practical experience and extensive literatures. After a round of correspondence review, discussion, and questionnaire feedback, the final consensus was formed, including 17 items of content.
