Values of contrast-enhanced ultrasound and enhanced CT in diagnosis of HBV infection-associated hepatocellular carcinoma
OBJECTIVE To analyze the values of contrast-enhanced ultrasound(CEUS)and enhanced CT in diagno-sis of hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection-related hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC).METHODS The clinical data were collected from 70 patients who were diagnosed with HBV infection-associated HCC and were treated in Putuo District People's Hospital from Jun 2018 to Jun 2023.Totally 21 patients received CEUS examination before the surgery, and 49 patients received enhanced CT scanning. The largest lesion was taken as a representative for as-sessment,the imaging characteristics were analyzed, the pathological result was taken as the golden standard, and the values of CEUS and enhanced CT in diagnosis of HBV infection-associated HCC were analyzed.RESULTS The detection rates of non-annular obvious enhancement and non-annular clearance in arterial phase were significantly higher by CEUS than by enhanced CT(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the detection rate of fatty degeneration or nodule in nodule between the two examination methods.Among the patients with HBV infection-associated HCC,there were significant differences in the enhanced intensity during the arterial phase and delayed phase between the CEUS and the enhanced CT(P<0.05).The proportion of fast-in and slow-out that was detec-ted as enhanced intensity mode was significantly higher by CEUS than by the enhanced CT(P<0.05).Taken the pathological result as the diagnostic standard, the sensitivity and accuracy of the CEUS were significantly higher than those of the enhanced CT scanning in diagnosis of the HBV infection-associated HCC(P<0.05),there was no significant difference in the specificity between the two examination methods.CONCLUSION CEUS and enhance CT have certain values in diagnosis of the HBV infection-associated HCC,and the CEUS shows the optimal sensi-tivity and accuracy in the diagnosis,it is worthy to be promoted in clinical practice.
