Association between high-risk HPV infection and expressions of serum miR-222,miRNA-21 and miR-18a in pregnant women
OBJECTIVE To analyze the association between the high-risk human papillomavirus(HPV)infection and the expressions of serum micro ribonucleic acid-222(miR-222),micro ribonucleic acid-21(miR-21)and micro ribonucleic acid-18a(miR-18a)in pregnant women.METHODS A total of 102 pregnant women with high-risk HPV infection who were treated in Jinan Second Maternal and Child Health Hospital from Sep 2019 to Jun 2022 were assigned as the high-risk HPV infection group,meanwhile,124 pregnant women who did not have HPV in-fection were chosen as the control group. The baseline data of the two groups were analyzed, the subtypes of high-risk HPV(HPV16,HPV18,HPV31,HPV33,HPV51,HPV52,HPV53 and HPV58)were observed, the ex-pression levels of serum miR-222,miRNA-21 and miR-18a,cervical and vaginal microflora, and maternal and in-fant outcomes were observed and compared between the two groups.RESULTS There were no significant differ-ences in the baseline data such as age, progestational body mass index(BMI),types of puerpera,gravidity,ges-tational weeks at detection and complication with gestational diseases between the high-risk HPV infection group and the control group.Among the 102 pregnant women with high-risk HPV infection, the pregnant women with HPV16 infection accounted for 54.90%,followed by the pregnant women with HPV18 infection(20.59%).The expression levels of serum miR-222,miRNA-21 and miR-18a of the high-risk HPV infection group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The proportion of pregnant women who were positive for Lactobacillus was lower in the high-risk HPV infection group than in the control group, while the proportion of pregnant women who were positive for Candida and Gardnerella were higher in the high-risk HPV infection group than in the con-trol group(P<0.05).The incidence rates of spontaneous abortion, premature delivery, adverse maternal and in-fant outcomes in total were higher in the high-risk HPV infection group than in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION HPV16 and HPV18 are the major high-risk subtypes of HPV causing the infection, which increase the expression levels of serum miR-222,miRNA-21 and miR-18a,affect the cervical and vaginal microflora, and pose threats to the maternal and infant outcomes.
