Homology of 55 strains of clinical multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii isolates
OBJECTIVE To analyze the homology of the 55 strains of clinical multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter bau-mannii(MDRAB)isolates.METHODS The 55 strains of MDRAB that were isolated from Heping Affiliated Hos-pital to Changzhi Medical College from Oct 2022 to Dec 2022 were cultured, the strains were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry(MALDI-TOF MS),the principal component analysis(PCA)of the identification results was performed by using Bruker MALDI-Biotyper software so as to es-tablish phylogenetic tree. The homology of the MDRAB strains was analyzed, and the relationship between the re-sult of analysis and the invasive operation was investigated with the combination of distribution of the MDRAB strains in departments, age groups and specimens.RESULTS The result of MALDI-TOF MS homology analysis of the 55 strains of MDRAB showed that the strains could be divided into two major categories, type Ⅰ(3.63%)was less common, and type Ⅱ could be divided into six subtypes, which were as follows:Ⅱ b(3.63%),Ⅱ a2(1.82%),Ⅱ a1b(1.82%),Ⅱ a1a2(1.82%),Ⅱ a1a1a(83.6%),Ⅱ a1a1b(3.63%);and the subtype Ⅱ a1a1a was prevalent among almost of the departments. There was risk of cross transmission of the homologous and single MDRA strains in the hospital.CONCLUSION The homology of the MDRAB strains is analyzed by means of the mass spectrometric technique, which may help to trace the source of cross transmission, provide scientific guid-ance for prevention and control among the key population and departments and boost the management of multi-drug-resistant organisms.
