Investigation of cognition and use behavior of antimicrobial agent in outpatients with fever during the peak of seasonal influenza
OBJECTIVE During the first peak of seasonal influenza after COVID-19 reclassified as"Category B and B Infectious Diseases",the cognition and use of antimicrobial drugs in the fever outpatients in a large tertiary A general hospital in Beijing were investigated and studied in this paper.METHODS A total of 500 patients who visi-ted the fever clinic of the hospital from Mar to Apr 2023 were surveyed on the awareness level of antimicrobial drugs and the use behavior of antimicrobials by questionnaire. At the same time, the nosocomial infection and bac-terial resistance monitoring data in the hospital from the first half of 2023 were collected by the information system and analyzed.RESULTS The awareness rate of antimicrobial drugs in the surveyed population was 54.40%,and the incorrect perception of"adverse antimicrobial reactions"was the most obvious. The rate of correct use antimi-crobial drugs was 40.80%.The patients had unreasonable behaviors such as self-hoarding,self-medication,and non-compliance with medical treatment in terms of indications, dosage and course of medication. The detection rate of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii in inpatients ranked the first among multidrug-resistant bac-teria druing the same period.CONCLUSION Although the drug awareness rate of antimicrobial drugs in the survey population is lower than the indicator requirements of the National Action Plan for the Containment of Microbial Resistance(2022-2025),it is better than the results of previous studies. The irrational application of antimicrobi-al drugs is diversified. The situation of antimicrobial resistance of bacteria has been partially exacerbated. In the fu-ture,we should continue to strengthen the management of rational use of antimicrobial drugs from multiple chan-nels.
