Effect of modified endoscopic instrument rack on prevention of endoscopic surgery-related infection and instrument contamination
OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of the modified endoscopic instrument rack on the endoscopic opera-tion.METHODS From Aug 2018 to Aug 2019,62 patients who needed endoscopic mucosal dissection were hospi-talized in Taizhou Municipal Hospital as the control group,and ordinary endoscopic surgical instruments were used.From Sep 2019 to Sep 2020,65 patients with submucosal tumors requiring endoscopic mucosal dissection were selected as the study subjects and were treated with modified endoscopic surgical instrument rack.The same operating procedure,the same operator and the same operating conditions were used to observe the operation process of the two groups,and the number of errors in taking the instrument and the contamination of the instru-ment in the two groups were recorded.The operation time of endoscopic mucosal dissection was recorded in the two groups.RESULTS The total error rate was 15.40%in the control group and 1.74%in the study group,which indicated the higher error rate in the control group(P<0.05).The operation time in the study group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).The proportions of attachment pollution were 12.63%in the control group and 1.39%in the study group,and that in the control group was higher than the study group(P<0.05).The incidence of surgical infection in the study group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The modified endoscopic instrument rack can effectively shorten the operation time,reduce the rates of surgical infection,contamination of surgery-related accessories and error in removing accessories.It de-serves clinical attention.
