Literature review of 1 case of severe eczema caused by human papillomavirus vaccine
OBJECTIVE To investigate the diagnosis and treatment of 1 patient with 4v human papillomavirus(HPV)vaccine-induced systemic acute eczema and explore the adverse reactions caused by the HPV vaccine and the safety of the vaccine.METHODS A female patient was admitted to Suqian First People's Hospital due to sys-temic eczema complicated with infection in Mar,2022.The clinical data were collected from the patient,the change of illness condition,data of laboratory test and treatment plans were observed and summarized by retro-spective description method after the vaccination of HPV vaccine.The diagnosis of disease was determined,and the safety of HPV vaccine and the induced adverse reactions were explored.RESULTS The patient,female,30 years old,was presented with systemic dense soybean-sized spots,papules and blisters,with rash redness,exu-dates,erosion,and scabs on some surfaces.The rash was symmetrically distributed behind the ear,on the face,hands,feet,limbs and trunk.The patient felt unbearable itching,and pus and scabs appeared in some infected le-sion sites after scratching.The chief complaint:the patient received the vaccination of 4v HPV vaccine by 3 injec-tions,experienced generalized pruritus and a red miliary rash after the first injection,and developed to soybean-sized papules and blisters after the second and third injections,and the skin lesions became progressively worse.The patient was finally diagnosed with HPV vaccine-induced acute eczema on the basis of medical history and skin lesions.CONCLUSION It is reported for the first time in China that 1 case has the eczema caused by the HPV vac-cine,which may provide valid evidence for assessment of safety of HPV vaccine and reference for clinical diagnosis and research.
