Association between EB virus infection and XRCC1,STING1,IL-10 gene polymorphisms, and types of pathological of patients with thyroid cancer
OBJECTIVE To observe the association between the Epstein-Barr(EB)virus infection and the X-ray cross complementary repair gene 1(XRCC1),stimulator of interferon gene 1(STING1)and interleukin-10(IL-10)gene polymorphisms and types of pathological of the patients with thyroid cancer.METHODS Totally 130 pa-tients with thyroid cancer who were treated in Qingdao Hiser Hospital Affiliated of Qingdao University(Qingdao Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital)from Mar 2021 to Mar 2023 were assigned as the malignant group,mean-while,138 patients with thyroid adenoma were chosen as the benign group. The incidence of EB virus infection and XRCC1,STING1 and IL-10 gene polymorphisms were compared between the two groups and among the patients with different types of pathological;the XRCC1,STING1 and IL-10 gene polymorphisms were compared among the thyroid cancer patients with different states of EB virus infection.RESULTS The incidence of EB virus infection and the proportions of patients with genotype AA and GA of XRCC1,allele A of XRCC1 and IL-10 were higher in the malignant group than in the benign group, while the proportion of patients with genotype GG of XRCC1 of the malignant group was lower than that of the benign group(P<0.05).The incidence of EB virus infection was high-er in the papillary carcinoma group and the follicular carcinoma group than in the medullary carcinoma group and the undifferentiated carcinoma group(P<0.05).The frequency of allele G of XRCC1 was higher in the papillary carcinoma group and the undifferentiated group than in the follicular carcinoma group and the medullary carcinoma group(P<0.05).The frequency of allele C of STING1 of the infection group was higher than that of the non-in-fection group(P<0.05).The percentage of genotype CC of IL-10 of the infection group was higher than that of the non-infection group, and the percentage of genotype CA of the infection group was lower than that of the non-infection group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION There are significant differences in the incidence of EB virus infection and XRCC1 gene polymorphisms between the thyroid cancer patients and the thyroid adenoma patients, the EB vi-rus infection may be associated with the type of pathological, and the IL-10 gene polymorphisms may be associated with the susceptibility to EB virus.
