Pathogens isolated from cesarean section puerpera with postpartum puerperal infections and clinical significance of serum PCT,TAC and NLR
OBJECTIVE To explore the pathogens isolated from the cesarean section puerpera with postpartum pu-erperal infections, observe the changes of serum procalcitonin(PCT),total antioxidant capacity(TAC)and neu-trophils to lymphocytes ratio(NLR),and observe the clinical significance.METHODS A total of 53 cesarean sec-tion puerpera with postpartum puerperal infection who were treated in Liaocheng Second People's Hospital from Jan 2018 to Jun 2023 were assigned as the puerperal infection group,meanwhile,53 cesarean section puerpera who did not have postpartum puerperal infection were chosen as the control group. The pathogens isolated from the pu-erpera with postpartum puerperal infections were analyzed, the baseline data and the levels of serum PCT,TAC and NLR were compared between the puerperal infection group and the control group, and the values of serum PCT,TAC and NLR in prediction of the infection were analyzed by means of receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves.RESULTS Totally 79 strains of pathogens were isolated from the 53 cesarean section puerpera with postpartum puerperal infection, among which gram-negative bacteria were dominant, followed by Mycoplasma. The levels of serum PCT and NLR of the puerperal infection group were higher than those of the control group, while the TAC of the puerperal infection group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Among the patients of the infection group, the levels of serum PCT and NLR of the patients with gram-positive bacteria infections were the highest during the puerperium, while the TAC was the lowest(P<0.05).The area under curve(AUC)of the joint de-tection of serum PCT,TAC and NLR was 0.891 in prediction of the infections, with the sensitivity 84.91%,higher than those of the single detection(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa are dominant a-mong the pathogens isolated from the cesarean section puerpera with postpartum puerperal infection. The clinical detection of serum PCT,NLR and TAC can predict the risk of puerperal infections for the cesarean section.
