Progress of research on fungal infections in Pseudozymogenes spp.
Pseudozymogenic bacteria, also known as Moesziomyces bacteria, are often considered environmental yeasts and are often found in the leaves, soil and flowers of plants, and can also act as environmental pathogens.Pseudozymogenes fungi can also cause disease in humans.Given the small number of infections associated with pseudozymogenes and the difficulty in identifying this organism for relatively primary care hospitals,it is more likely that clinical pathogens will be misdiagnosed or missed.A better understanding of rare yeast pathogens such as Pseudozymogenes is the key to solving therapeutic problems.Pseudozymogenic infections typically manifest with fever and are diagnosed through blood culture. Most of the genera studied appear to be resistant to fluconazole and echinocandins, and voriconazole, posaconazole and amphotericin are effective in treating pseudozymogenic in-fections.This article highlights the pathogenic species, demographic characteristics, geographical distribution, susceptibility factors, clinical presentations, and antibiotic susceptibility profiles of Pseudozymogenes, and discus-ses their clinical diagnosis, treatment, and preventive control.
