Relationship between expressions of serum miR-205,miR-233 and miR-210 and progression of sepsis with AKI
OBJECTIVE To investigate the relationship between the expressions of microRNA(MiR)-205,miR-233 and miR-210 and the progression of sepsis with acute kidney injury(AKI).METHODS A total of 168 patients with sepsis admitted to Wuxi People's Hospital from Dec.2018 to Jun.2023 were selected and divided into two groups:67 cases with AKI and 101 cases without AKI.According to the severity of AKI,the AKI group was further di-vided into the mild group with 31 cases and the severe group with 36 cases.According to the prognosis within 28 days, the AKI group was divided into the death group with 26 cases and the survival group with 41 cases.A total of 172 healthy subjects admitted during the same period were selected as the control group. The serum miR-205,miR-233 and miR-210 levels in different groups were compared, their relationships with the progression of sepsis with AKI and predictive values were analyzed.RESULTS The serum miR-205 level in the AKI group and the non-AKI group were both lower than that in the control group(P<0.05),and miR-205 in AKI group was even lower than that in the non-AKI group(P<0.05).The levels of miR-233 and miR-210 in sepsis with or without AKI were all higher than those in the control group(P<0.05),and miR-233 and miR-210 level in the AKI group was higher than those in the non-AKI group respectively(P<0.05).Serum miR-205 levels were negatively correlated with the progression with sepsis with AKI,while miR-233 and miR-210 levels were positively correlated with the progression(P<0.05).The area under the diagnostic curve(AUC)value of the joint detection of the three mi-croRNAs was significantly higher than that of the detection of single index in prediction of the 28-day clinical out-comes of sepsis combined with AKI(P<0.05);the sensitivity and specificity of the joint detection were 96.15%and 82.93%respectively.CONCLUSIONS In patients of sepsis with AKI,the expression changes of the three mi-croRNA are closely related to the disease progression in patients with sepsis combined with AKI.The joint detec-tion of the three microRNAs has a high predictive value for poor 28-day clinical outcomes.
