Application of Qufu Shengxin Ointment combined with gentamicin ointment in the treatment of chronic varicose ulcer infection of lower extremities and effects on HIF-1α/VEGF signaling pathway
OBJECTIVE To explore the therapeutic effects of Qufu Shengxin ointment combined with gentamicin ointment in the treatment of chronic varicose ulcer infection of lower extremities and influence to the signaling pathway of hypoxic-inducing factor-1α(HIF-1α)/vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF).METHODS A total of 100 patients with chronic varicose ulcer of lower limbs with infection admitted to the Union Hospital Affiliated to Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology from Aug.2020 to Aug.2023 were retrospectively selected and divided into control group(42 cases)and combination group(58 cases)according to the therapeutic plan.The control group was treated with gentamicin ointment;the combined group was treated with gentamicin ointment and saprophytic new ointment in combination.The therapeutic effect,wound recovery characteristics,levels of inflammatory factors[interleukin-6,IL-10,C-reactive protein(CRP)]in peripheral blood and the relative expression levels of HIF-1α and VEGF before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.RESULTS The curative effect of the combination group was significantly better than that of the control group(P＜0.05).The appearance of granuloma and healing of ulcer were earlier in the combination group than in the control group(P＜0.05),and the rate of smooth scar of the combination group was higher than that of the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,the levels of inflammatory factors in the two groups were lower than those before treatment(P＜0.05);the change ranges before and after the treatment in the combined group was significantly larger than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The relative expression levels of HIF-1α and VEGF in the two groups after the treatment were higher than those before the treatment;the change ranges before and after the treatment in combination group were larger than those in control group(P＜0.05).CONCLUSION Qufu Shengxin Ointment combined with gentamicin ointment has a good curative effect on the treatment of chronic varicose ulcer of lower limbs,which can promote the recovery of ulcers and has certain clinical application value.
