Clinical effect of morinidazole on incision site infection after endoscopic surgery for anal fistula
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of morinidazole on incision site infection after endoscopic surgery for anal fistula and its influence on vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),hypoxia-inducing factor 1α(HIF-1α)and nuclear red cell 2 associated factor 2 protein(Nrf-2)in peripheral blood.METHODS Patients admitted to Wuhan Eighth Hospital from Aug.2020 to Aug.2023 diagnosed as incision site infection after endoscopic surgery for anal fistula were retrospectively selected and randomly divided to the molinidazole group treated with morphin-idazole(n=56)and the ornidazole group treated with ornidazole(n=42).The therapeutic effect, wound healing, pathogenic bacteria numbers before and after treatment,VEGF,HIF-1α and Nrf-2 levels in peripheral blood were compared between the two groups.RESULTS The total effective rate in morinidazole group was 94.64%,signifi-cantly higher than 78.57%in ornidazole group(P<0.05).The times for new granulation appearing and complete wound healing in morinidazole group were both significantly shorter than those in ornidazole group(P<0.05),while the wound flatness rate in morinidazole group was significantly lower than that in ornidazole group(P<0.05).The number of colonies of three pathogenic bacteria in the two groups decreased after treatment, which in morinidazole group was significantly lower than that in ornidazole group(P<0.05).After treatment,VEGF lev-els in both groups increased, which in morinidazole group was significantly higher than that in ornidazole group(P<0.05);meanwhile,HIF-1α and Nrf-2 protein levels decreased, which in morphinidazole group were lower than those in ornidazole group(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS Morinidazole is effective for wound infection after anal fistula operation, and it can significantly raise VEGF expression in peripheral blood and reduce the expression of HIF-1α and Nrf-2 proteins. It possesses good application value.
