Objective To investigate the feasibility of chest ultrasound combined with chest X-ray in the diagnosis of rib fracture. Methods 100 patients who received chest trauma treatment at the Health Center of Wharf Town,Zouping City from January 2021 to December 2023 were selected as study subject.Chest ultrasound diagnosis and chest X-ray diagnosis were respectively performed on them.Three-dimensional CT reconstruction diagnosis was used as the gold standard to compare the diagnostic efficiency of chest ultrasound, chest X-ray,and their combination. Results Among the 100 cases,68 cases were positive and 32 cases were negative.Chest ul-trasound diagnosis showed positive in 63 cases and negative in 28 cases.Chest X-ray showed positive in 55 cases and negative in 25 cases. The combined diagnosis showed positive in 66 cases and negative in 31 cases, andthe sen-sitivity and accuracy were 97.06%and 97.00%,respectively,that both were higher than those of any single diagno-sis,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).93 fractures were diagnosed by CT 3D reconstruction in 68 patients,of which 71 were occult rib fractures and 22 were costal cartilage fractures. The total detection rate of combined diagnosis was higher than that of single diagnosis, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Chest ultrasound combined with chest X-ray can achieve complementary advantages,im-prove the sensitivity and accuracy of emergency rib fracture, and is worthy of grassrootsclinical promotion.
