Esophageal cancer is a common clinical tumor of the digestive tract,and most patients are de-tected late and cannot be treated with surgery.Photodynamic therapy(PDT)is a new type of clinical treatment for malignant tumors,which has the advantages of non-invasiveness,low toxicity and side effects,immune activation,good clinical efficacy,and high safety,and it can improve dysphagia,prolong survival,and improve the quality of life of patients with advanced esophageal cancer.This article reviews the mechanism,clinical application,advan-tages,and disadvantages of PDT in the treatment of advanced esophageal cancer.
