Objective To explore the early identification and diagnostic key points of placental abruption. Methods Clinical data of 118 patients with placental abruption treated in the Department of Obstetrics and Gyne-cology of Yanhe Tujia Autonomous County People's Hospital from January 2020 to November 2023 were retrospec-tively included.According to the severity of placental abruption, the patients were divided into the mild group with 51 cases and the severe group with 67 cases. The incidence of placental abruption, pregnancy complications, and initial symptoms in patients with different degrees of placental abruption were compared. Results The incidence of gestational hypertension in patients with mild placental abruption was lower than that in patients with severe placental abruption(P<0.001),and the rate of premature rupture of membranes was higher in patients with mild placental abruption than in those with severe placental abruption(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the gestational diabetes, scarred uterus, and twin pregnancy between the groups(P>0.05).The rates of vaginal bleeding, coagulation abnormalities, and typical triple signs were lower in patients with mild placental abruption than those in patients with severe placental abruption(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant dif-ference in the occurrence of persistent abdominal pain, fetal heart abnormalities, and bloody amniotic fluid between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Risk factors for placental abruption should be identified early, and vigi-lance should be maintained for gestational hypertension, vaginal bleeding, coagulation abnormalities, and typical triple signs, which may indicate severe placental abruption.Clinical diagnosis should be made with the help of ul-trasound,and timely treatment should be administered after confirmation to improve patient prognosis.
