Objective This study aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes of laparoscopic surgery in patients with acute appendicitis. Methods A retrospective study was conducted on 80 patients, who was divided into the laparoscopic surgery group(observation group,n=40)and the open surgery group(control group,n=40).The study compared recovery status, postoperative pain levels, inflammatory factor levels, and the incidence of postoperative complications between the two groups. Results The findings revealed that the observation group had significantly shorter operation duration, faster time to first flatus, and shorter hospital stay compared to the control group(P<0.001).The pain scores recorded at 24,48,and 72 hours postoperatively were significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.001).There were no significant differences in CRP,IL-6,and PCT levels between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, both groups showed a significant increase in CRP,IL-6,and PCT levels(P<0.05);however,post-treatment levels of these markers were significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.05).The observation group experienced a significantly lower incidence of postoperative complications compared to the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion For patients with acute appendi-citis,laparoscopic surgery is beneficial for postoperative recovery, reducing postoperative pain levels, decreasing the release of inflammatory factors, and lowering the incidence of postoperative complications.
