Objective To analyze the clinical value of combined treatment with omeprazole and octreo-tide in patients with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding(AUGB).Methods A retrospective collection of data from 110 patients with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding treated at Xiaogan First People's Hospital from May 2021 to May 2023 was conducted.Patients were divided into theomeprazole treatment group(control group)and theomeprazole plus octreotide treatment group(observation group).Clinical efficacy, relevant clinical indicators, coagulation indices, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results In the observation group,54 patients(98.18%)were treated effectively, higher than the effective rate(46 patients 83.64%)in the control group(x2=7.070,P=0.008).The bleeding time(t=2.561,P=0.005),fecal occult blood turning negative time(t=3.051,P=0.001),and hospitalization time(t=4.289,P<0.001)in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group. After treatment,PT,APTT,and TT improved in both groups, while the observation group showed shorter PT,APTT,and TT than those of the control group(P<0.001).The incidence of adverse reac-tions was 23.64%(13 cases)in the observation group.Comparing to the incidence of adverse reactions(18.18%10 cases)in the control group, there was no significant difference(x2=0.495,P=0.482).Conclusion The treatment regimen combining octreotide and omeprazole is beneficial for the rapid improvement of patients with acute upper gastrointestinal bleeding, demonstrating significant clinical efficacy, rapid hemostasis, and high safety.
