Observational Study on the Efficacy of Pneumatic Retinopexy Combined with Laser Photocoagulation in the Treatment of Retinal Detachment in Emergency Cases
Objective To explore the value of pneumatic retinopexy combined with laser photocoagulation under gas in the treatment of retinal detachment in emergency settings. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the records of 76 patients with retinal detachment who were treated at Yinchuang Jinchuan Ophthal-mology Hospital between April 2021 and April 2024.Patients were divided into two groups based on the surgical method:the observation group(microscopic laser surgery,n=38)and the control group(pneumatic retinopexy com-bined with laser photocoagulation under gas,n=38).The retinal reattachment rate and postoperative best-corrected visual acuity(BCVA)were compared between the two groups. Results The observation group had a primary reattachment rate of 89.47%,which was significantly higher than the control group's reat tachment rate of 65.79%(P<0.05).All of the four cases of non-reattachment in the observation group achieved reattachment after additional treatment, while seven non-reattached cases in the control group were also reattached after further treatment. The final retinal reattachment rate in the observation group was 100.00%,significantly higher than the 84.21%in the control group(P=0.011).At 6 months postoperatively,30 patients(78.95%)in the observation group achieved a BCVA of 0.3 or better, significantly higher than that 19 patients(50.00%)in the control group. The degree of BCVA improvement in the observation group was also significantly better than that in the control group(P<0.05).Con-clusion In the emergency treatment of retinal detachment, pneumatic retinopexy not only provides an ideal reat-tachment success rate but also facilitates better postoperative visual recovery.
