Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of combining physical therapy with exercise rehabili-tation in the treatment of acute rotator cuff injuries. Methods 68 patients with acute rotator cuff injuries treated at Zhangzhou Hospital in Fujian Province from February 2022 to February 2024 were randomly divided into two groups using the lottery method:the observation group(physical therapy combined with exercise rehabilitation,n=34)and the control group(physical therapy alone,n=34).The degree of shoulder joint injury, range of motion(ROM),pain levels, and clinical efficacy were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there were no significant differences between the two groups in UCLA scores across five dimensions:shoulder joint function, pain, active forward flexion, manual forward flexion strength, and satisfaction(P>0.05).After treatment, the UCLA scores in all five dimensions were significantly higher in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.001).Before treatment,no significant differences were observed in forward flexion ROM and external rotation ROM between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the ROM scores for both dimensions were signif-icantly higher in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.001).The Visual Analog Scale(VSA)scores for pain levels showed no significant differences between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05);how-ever,post-treatment VSA scores were significantly lower in the observation group compared to the control group(P<0.001).The clinical efficacy rate of the observation group was 94.11%,significantly higher than that(73.53%)in the control group(P=0.021).Conclusion For patients with acute rotator cuff injuries, the combination of physical therapy and exercise rehabilitation effectively improves the degree of shoulder joint injury, increases range of motion, reduces pain levels, and significantly enhances clinical outcomes.
