Objective To investigate the impact of routine and enhanced nursing care measures on postop-erative incision infections in liver surgery. Methods A retrospective study was conducted involving patients ad-mitted from March 2023 to October 2023 for surgical treatment of liver lesions.Patients were randomly assigned to either the routine nursing care group(control group)or the enhanced nursing care group(intervention group)using a random number table. The study observed postoperative incision infection rates, surgery duration, white blood cell count on postoperative day 2,average length of hospital stay, and patient satisfaction. Results The incidence of incision infections in the intervention group was 10.00%,which was lower than the 18.97%observed in the control group(P=0.045).The intervention group had shorter surgery duration and total length of hospital stay compared to the control group(P<0.001),and the white blood cell count on postoperative day 2 was lower in the intervention group(P<0.001).Patient and family satisfaction with nursing care in the intervention group was 96.00%(48/50),significantly higher than the 72.41%(42/58)in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Enhanced nursing inter-ventions in the operating room can reduce the incidence of incision infections in liver surgery, shorten surgery and hospital stay times, and improve patient satisfaction.
