Clinical analysis of hepatic artery embolization combined with radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of small liver cancer patients
Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy of hepatic artery embolization combined with radiofrequency ablation in the treatment of small liver cancer patients. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on 46 patients with small liver cancer who were diagnosed and treated in our hospital from January 2020 to July 2023.They were divided into two groups based on surgical methods:the control group and the obser-vation group, with 23 patients in each group. The patients in the control group were received hepatic artery embolization, and in the observation group were treated with radiofrequency ablation on the basis of the control group. The clinical effects were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the levels of alpha fetoprotein(AFP),carbohydrate antigen-CA199(CA199),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),and e-calcin(EC)between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After treatment, the levels of these indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in the levels of aspartate aminotransferase(AST),alkaline phosphatase(ALP),alanine aminotransferase(ALT),and direct bilirubin(DBIL)between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment, the levels of these indicators in the ob-servation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The score of the WTO Quality of Life Scale(WHOQOL BREF)in the observation group after treatment was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of hepatic artery embolization and radiofre-quency ablation is not only effective in treating small liver cancer patients, but also reduces the level of tumor markers, improves liver function and living conditions, and is worth promoting.
