Analysis of risk factors of proctitis after radical radiotherapy for cervical cancer
Objective To investigate and analyze the risk factors of proctitis after radical radiotherapy for cervical cancer. Methods 107 patients who received radical radiotherapy for cervical cancer from January 2021 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed,40 patients with proctitis were selected as the proctitis group, and 67 patients without proctitis were selected as the group without proctitis. The age, education level, tumor diameter, invasion degree, clinical stage, pathological type, body mass index(BMI),and total radiotherapy dose were compared between the two groups.Logistic regression was used to analyze the risk factors affecting proctitis after radical radiotherapy for cervical cancer. Results There was no significant difference in education level, pathological type and BMI between the two groups(P>0.05).The proportion of patients in proctitis group with age ≥60 years old, tumor diameter ≥4 cm,invasion degree ≥ 1/2,clinical stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ and total dose of radiotherapy being 50.4 Gy was signif-icantly higher than that in non-proctitis group, and the difference were statistically significant(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that age, tumor diameter, degree of invasion, clinical stage and total radiotherapy dose were all risk factors for proctitis after radical radiotherapy of cervical cancer(P<0.05).Conclusion The occurrence of proctitis after radical radiotherapy for cervical cancer is closely related to age, tumor diameter,de-gree of infiltration, clinical stage, and total radiotherapy dose, and clinical interventions for these risk factors are needed in the clinic to reduce the in-cidence of proctitis after radical radiotherapy for cervical cancer.
