Correlation analysis of peripheral blood CysC,NSE,CK-BB,and lactate levels in hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy
Objective To investigate the changes in cystatin C,neuron specific enolase(NSE),creatine kinase brain type isoenzyme(CK-BB),and lactate levels in hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, and to analyze their correlation with the degree of brain injury. Methods A retrospective analy-sis was conducted on the clinical data of 98 children with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy admitted to our hospital from January 2019 to October 2023.According to the severity of brain injury neurological score(NBNA),they were divided into mild group(36 cases),moderate group(32 cases),severe group(30 cases),and another 30 healthy newborns were selected as the control group. The levels of CysC,NSE,CK-BB,and lactate in the subjects were detected, and the correlation between each indicator and the degree of brain injury was analyzed using Pearson analysis. The predictive value of CysC,NSE,CK-BB,and lactate for the severity of brain injury was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curves. Results The levels of CysC,NSE,CK-BB,and lactate in the case group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The levels of CysC,NSE,CK-BB,and lactate in the severe group were higher than those in the moderate and mild groups, the peripheral blood CysC,NSE,CK-BB,and lactate levels in the moderate group were significantly higher than those in the mild group(P<0.05).Pearson analysis showed that CysC,NSE,CK-BB,and lactate were positively correlated with the severity of brain injury(r=0.479,0.642,0.655,0.618,P<0.05).ROC analysis showed that the combination of CysC,NSE,CK-BB,and lactate had the highest diagnostic accuracy in predicting the severity of brain injury. Conclusion The levels of CysC,NSE,CK-BB,and lactate in peripheral blood of children with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy are closely related to the severity of brain injury, and are sensitive biochemical indicators for early reflection of the severity of neonatal brain injury.
