Analysis of the expression levels of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 in non-small cell lung cancer
Objective To investigate the expression significance of insulin-like growth factor-1(IGF-1)and insulin-like growth factor bind-ing protein-3(IGFBP-3)in non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods 30 NSCLC patients admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to De-cember 2023 were selected as the observation group, and 30 healthy individuals who underwent physical examinations during the same period were selected as the control group.IGF-1 and GFBP-3 were detected in both groups, and the pathological type,TNM stage, and lymph node metastasis of NSCLC patients were collected to analyze the expression significance of IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 in the observation group. Results The serum IGF-1 level in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the IGFBP-3 level was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in serum IGF-1 and IGFBP-3 levels among NSCLC patients of different ages, genders, and pathological types(P>0.05).The serum IGF-1 levels in stage III-IV and NSCLC patients with lymph node metastasis were higher than those in stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ and NSCLC patients without lymph node metastasis(P<0.05),while the serum IGFBP-3 levels in stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ and NSCLC patients with lymph node metastasis were lower than those in stage I-II and NSCLC patients without lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).The area under the ROC curve(AUC),specificity, and sensitivity of serum IGF-1 for NSCLC were 0.762,82.36%,and 80.19%,respectively.The AUC,specificity, and sensitivity of serum IGFBP-3 for NSCLC were 0.789,85.62%,and 83.96%,respectively.Conclusion Serum IGF-1 is highly expressed in NSCLC patients, while serum IGFBP-3 is lowly expressed. The levels of these two indicators are closely related to TNM staging and lymph node metastasis in NSCLC patients, and have certain diagnostic value for NSCLC.
