Clinical value of serum PSA,testosterone and alkaline phosphatase in the diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of prostate cancer
Objective To explore the clinical value of serum prostate-specific antigen(PSA),testosterone(T)and alkaline phosphatase(ALP)in the diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of prostate cancer(PCa).Methods A total of 120 patients with PCa and 88 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia in the hospital were retrospectively enrolled as PCa group and benign group between January 2015 and July 2023,respectively.The levels of serum PSA,T and ALP were compared between the two groups, and their diagnostic value for PCa was evaluated by receiver operating characteris-tic(ROC)curves.After 1 year of follow-up,patients with PCa were divided into recurrence group and non-recurrence group according to prognosis. The levels of serum PSA,T and ALP were compared between the two groups, and their predictive value for PCa recurrence was evaluated by ROC curves. Results The levels of PSA and ALP in PCa group were significantly higher than those in benign group, while T level was significantly low-er than that in benign group(P<0.05).ROC curves analysis showed that AUC values of serum PSA,T and ALP in the diagnosis of PCa were 0.843,0.817 and 0.819,respectively.AUC of combined detection was 0.947,significantly greater than that of single index(P<0.05).The levels of PSA and ALP in recurrence group were significantly higher than those in non-recurrence group, while T level was significantly lower than that in non-recur-rence group(P<0.05).ROC curves analysis showed that AUC values of PSA,T and ALP for predicting PCa recurrence were 0.748,0.765 and 0.680,re-spectively.AUC of combined detection was 0.869,significantly greater than that of single index(P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of serum PSA,T and ALP are abnormal in PCa patients, which are all valuable in diagnosis and prognosis prediction of PCa.The value of combined detection is higher.
