Analysis of risk factors related to intracranial infection after ventricular drainage
Objective To investigate the risk factors of intracranial infection after ventricular drainage. Methods Through retrospective analysis, the clinical data of 150 patients who underwent ventricular drainage surgery in our hospital from January 2018 to January 2024 were collect-ed,and univariate and multivariate Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the potential risk factors of intracranial infection after ventricular drainage. Results Among the 150 patients included in the study,20 cases had intracranial infection after surgery, the rate was 13.33%.The results of univariate analysis showed that age≥60 years, pulmonary infection, operation duration≥2 h,operation frequency≥2 times, drainage time≥7 d and cerebrospinal fluid leakage were all associated with intracranial infection(P<0.05).The results of multi-factor analysis showed that age,pul-monary infection, drainage time and cerebrospinal fluid leakage were independent risk factors for postoperative intracranial infection(P<0.05).Conclusion The occurrence of intracranial infection in patients with ventricular drainage after surgery may be related to age, pulmonary infection, catheter placement time and cerebrospinal fluid leakage. Therefore, timely preventive measures should be taken and early intervention should be im-plemented to reduce the incidence of postoperative intracranial infection.
