A comparative study of the efficacy of modified VSD drainage versus conventional closed negative pressure drainage for Morel-Lavallée injuries
Objective To investigate the efficacy of applying modified closed negative pressure drainage technique versus traditional negative pressure drainage in the treatment of Morel-Lavallée injury. Methods 36 patients with Morel-Lavallée injury admitted to our hospital from January 2020 to June 2023 were selected. They were randomly divided into 18 cases each in the control group and the experimental group according to the surgical method. Results There was no significant difference in gender and age composition between the two groups before surgery(P>0.05).The treatment of Morel-Lavallée injury by modified closed negative pressure suction was less than traditional negative pressure drainage in terms of the number of reoperations, the healing time of incision and the length of hospital stay, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),and the difference was statistically significant. And there was no significant difference in the comparison of postoperative ultrasound, residual void, and effu-sion between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Modified closed negative pressure drainage technique is safe and effective in the treatment of Morel-Lavallée injury, shortens the hospital stay and 1-phase healing time, improves the clinical benefits, and deserves further clinical promotion.
