In the context of the digital economy,as information technology continues to integrate with traditional finance, virtual currency has emerged as an innovative application of blockchain technology in the fintech sector.Due to its characteristics of decentralization, anonymity, and transnational nature, virtual currency is susceptible to exploitation in illegal activities such as fraud, pyramid schemes, money laundering, terrorist financing, online gambling, extortion, and darknet transactions.Based on an analysis of judgments on virtual currency crimes from China Judgments Online, this study reveals that virtual currency crimes in China have a high degree of concealment, industrialization, and transmissibility, posing a serious threat to national financial security and social stability. To address the current challenges in preventing and controlling virtual currency crimes, this paper proposes a multidimensional approach:enhancing legal education and public awareness of virtual currency risks;improving the legal regulatory framework and optimizing government supervision mechanisms;applying big data and artificial intelligence technologies to establish an intelligent prevention and early warning system;strengthening professional technical training for law enforcement personnel to enhance case investigation and enforcement capabilities;and developing interdepartmental regulatory cooperation mechanisms while deepening international law enforcement collaboration.
